Favorite Fashion Photographers

Steven Meisel
Meisel works with Vogue Italia and iconed many models of his generation. The colors he matched for each picture worked well together and there wasn't anything overpowering one from the other, well-balanced.

Arnaud Pyvka
Pyvka has a softness to his pictures giving it a blurry, classic look. I like the fashion in his pictures and how it seems simple yet elegant.

Annie Leibovitz
Leibovitz is accredited for her portrait-like photography. Some of her work reminds me of popular fairy tale classics, movies and more, such as Cinderella.

Day 2:Fashion Photography Tips

Eunique Jones

Jones' Work

Eunique Jones wanted to acknowledge the children of the past. The 'history makers' of the past were once kids who didn't think it was possible for them to dream. Mollison (from my last post) wanted to show the lives of kids today and what they go through. In a way, both photographer's pictures coincide together, meaning the theme between them. Mollison showcased living situation of children all over the world. Jones includes that kids are the future generation to come.  One day, they will be the leaders and do something great. No matter what background you come from, that doesn't stop you from accomplishing the dreams you have set your heart out to do. Harriet Tubman was a slave since birth, but she managed to lead thousands of slaves to freedom. These artists show that kids are the past, present and future. Age does not defy the rights they deserve.

Sports Photography

Top Three Favorite Sports
-Badminton
-Tennis
-Volleyball

I think the technique photographers use is that they take several pictures at one time, one after the other, and choose the best picture out of all of them to use.

My favorite presentation was by Jessica Towey. It was straight and to the point. She didn't crowd the slide with tons of information, but gave important details the reader would like to know. The presentation taught me the best ways to take an action shot and where the best lighting would be. It also talked about multiple sports instead of just one. Pictures were also included to mix in with the facts and flow easily.

James Mollison

Mollison's Work

James Mollison was given the opportunity to indulge in children's rights through his photoagraphy. Mollison wanted to express children in different situations or circumstances. What better way to display the kind of life kids around the world live than to show the place where they live, their bedroom. In the pictures above, it displays how the child looks and how they coincide with where they sleep. One may have a comfy bed with brightly colored walls, or have tires as a mattress, some may not even have four walls to enclose them from the harsh weather. At first, Mollison puts the child in front of a neutral background to recognize that wherever they live, a kid is a kid. Then he shows the bedroom to reveal the living conditions of the child. Surely, Mollison shows a whole new side to things.
